Selection Process

Our selection process starts with you.

Whether you’re looking for a protection dog for a houseful of kids or you're a jet-setting executive who requires security wherever you go, Svalinn takes great pride in matching you with the perfect dog.

We’ll first want to learn more about you and your lifestyle. This getting acquainted phase helps us to select the candidates that will fit easily into your life while meeting all of your security needs. After establishing your priorities and sharing with you photos and videos of the various dogs, we’ll help you narrow the choices down to a few select individuals we feel best meet all of your lifestyle and security requirements.

We strongly encourage you to visit our facilities before selecting a dog. However, we can also organize a visit with our dogs at a location more convenient to you. This by far is the most important part of the selection process. You’ll get to know the candidates firsthand, and get a real feel for their unique personalities before you make your final selection. Even if you remain uncertain which dog to choose, it’s usually obvious to us which dog connects with you and will best augment your individual or family situation. We are happy to help guide your decision.

We fully understand choosing a new addition to your family can be a somewhat intimidating task. At Svalinn, we pride ourselves on turning what could be a very stressful process into an exciting experience -- one that we think you’ll find surprisingly simple, and of course very rewarding. The selection of a dog is truly a magical experience for us at Svalinn, and one of our greatest rewards. At this stage you should be able to imagine your life with your chosen dog; picturing yourself relaxing at home, attending meetings or heading out for a walk – all with your companion by your side to provide you with unrivaled peace of mind.

Taking home a Svalinn dog is a life-changing experience. You can be assured we're with you every step of the way to make certain it's a positive one for many, many years to come.
