Breed Specifications

While each breed shares similar characteristics, every dog is distinctive with a unique personality and appearance.

Svalinn chooses German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, and Belgian Malinoises for their breeds.

Svalinn Dogs

THE SVALINN DOG IS A SUPERIOR ANIMAL, BRED FROM THE STORIED PROTECTOR BREEDS TO OFFER COMPANIONSHIP, WORKABILITY AND PROTECTION.
All Svalinn canines are bred in-house from known and quantified bloodlines. We have selected traits from these three superior breeds to become our protection dogs: German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds and Belgian Malinois.

Each one of these breeds lends characteristics to the overall dog. German Shepherds, known for their family focus, offer stability around busy households. Dutch Shepherds and their laid back personality bring a sense of calm and confidence to their handler. Belgian Malinois, familiar for their high drive and work ethic, give an unmatched protection ability. By combining all of these breeds into our dogs, we have developed a 'breed apart' from purebred animals. While an individual Svalinn dog may predominantly look like one specific breed, they possess the traits and benefits of all of our breeds.

Although our dogs are elite athletes, we do not enter them in kennel shows or protective sports competitions. Our dogs are bred and trained specifically to mitigate real world threats and to provide you and your family with peace of mind. Instead of chasing ribbons and trophies, we focus our efforts on training your next family member and ultimate protector.

Characteristics

Agile, athletic, even-tempered, gentle, intelligent, loving and well muscled.

Appearance

Our dogs range in size and color combinations. Some will sport a blonde coat with a black mask, while their sibling may present a dark body with brindle stripes throughout. Because we cross three select breeds of shepherds, each dog has the ability to display any combination of auburn, black, blonde, brindle and tan.
